Re: Deciding on a new dog!!!!
Our 2nd foster dog "buddy" has been with us for 2 weeks now. He is a lovely dog. Quiet, gentle and very playful. He is almost 4 yrs old and we are haveing a little bother with him " marking " inappropriately. However as he has been a kennel dog all his life he knows no better so we are very vigilant and encourage him to " toilet" in the right area or out on his walk. He is very good inside aurl=http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=44&u=13351032][imnd loves our company...

What a gorgeous boy. I would love to foster dogs, but I would have a serious problem with letting them go.

Nice legs Jill
He looks like a pretty placid guy. How long do you get to keep him, and what happens if he can't find a home? Most carers end up keeping at least one, don't they?

Re: Deciding on a new dog!!!!
Thanx Anthony....they belong to my husband ( along with the crappy sandals) and I do get to keep him, he has a home and I dont think there would be too many takers !!! Oh.....you meant the DOG!!! People that want to adopt get to come and see him and decide if they like him. We keep a record of his behaviour and we point out anything "bad" about them and generally tell them as much as possible about the dog. They are responsive to training and most make excellent quiet, placid undemanding pets. He will probably stay 2 to 3 more weeks. I do get attached but this is my doggie "fix" as we wont have another permanent hound. Fostering helped me to decide about another dog as we had been without one for so long.I suppose its great training for the arrival of the grandchild....Nice to visit, not a lot of responsibility and they get handed back!!!!Foster careres are allowed to keep a dog if they wish.....you just have to let G>A<P< know as soon as possible after the dog arrives as they have a waiting list for permanent adopters.
