Haven't really had them on ours, but on customers dogs yes. Often they have a scab on them that you don't know about and make bleed. Have heard you can use those freeze kits for people... Never done it though.

I was told by the vet they can be removed if it concerns you but there's no need other than cosmetic...all my older shih x malt have them and they vary in size...you just have to be careful when clipping

My little Mingo has one on her back, found it like you did, when I clipped her close.. She's seven, I hate any sigh of her getting older:cry:

Interestingly......my neice is a qualified homeopath and says that in humans immunisation can be linked to warts. Interesting too that most people immunise yearly and this could be linked. There is much debate , as in another thread about vaccinating yearly or not. Very Happy Very Happy

I find warts all the time. They appear like little brainy looking things. I also find they can sometimes get a discharge from them but are easily cleaned up. Just have to be careful not to bump them to hard with blades. Never had much problem with them and if I'm unsure I refer customer to vet.

I also have seen on numerous occasion and on one of my Malts in particular, hard lumps with a core. I've read up in pet health manuals and found they are like a hair folicle that fills the sack with a gooey, creamy discharge. I've had some that have expressed quite alot and left a distinct whole however I've never had any of these reappear in same spot if all discharge is removed. Like a big pimple Question I've asked the vet who looks at me scratch funny. I've discharged these on several dogs and never had any infections or problems. Upon return the whole has cleared over and disappeared.

Has anyone else seen these or know what they are Question Idea I've been curious about them for some time now. scratch

Yes we probably all find them as groomers Neutral Its like with humans, when people get old they develop lumps and bumps Smile . In general most of them are harmless. I once had a puppy with one. It looked like a small cauli and grew on her shoulder and I had it removed. Lot of older dogs develop them but if they don't grow in size or don't bother the dog or the dog doesnt scratch and make them bleed there is no need to worry. If you remove all these lil ones your dog would end up looking like swiss cheese. Laughing
