Not sure but a quick search showed me that its active ingredient "Tylosin as Tartrate" and according to the MSDS sheets it is not antibiotic from what I read. The other 2 ingredients are Sweet Potato and Brown Rice, the Sweet Potato version is only available in Australia legally due to quarantine restrictions.

Anyone know for sure?

Just google Tylosin. It is an antibiotic similar to "erythramycin". Any continual use can lower the resistance to antibiotics .I hav enoticed that the use of certain atibiotics for other conditions also clears the "epiphora"...tear staining in some dogs. I also hear that some show people put their dogs on a course of antibiotics ( certain types, I gather erythramycin") every couple of years to lessen this condition ( tear staining)

"Tylosin" is different to "Tylosin as Tartrate" and that is of the FDA site. Anyways I am not the one selling it, take it up with the importer.

Yes it is interesting, filtered water given to your dogs will also give you amazing results as there is no iron in the water to to cause the staining as it is believed that the iron can be a contributor to the reddish stain.

There are so many so cured cures. The apparent" theory" is to change the ph of the dogs saliva or body secretions. The latest "idea" is to add tomato paste to the dogs diet daily....a quarter o half a teaspoon daily depending on the size of the littlies......Strange that big dogs rarely exhibit the problem????Or do the samoyeds, golden retrivers, white spitz breeds have the same problem???

My white Standard Poodle suffers from tear staining, doesn't ten to lick her feet though, only if there is a cut or something there.
