Central Asian Shepherd

Post by porshangel on Tue Oct 26, 2010 8:54 pm

One of my students clients has a male and female needing a new home asap.
One female Desexed one male not desexed. I have not met the dogs but student and owner said they have great temperments and are good dogs.
I do believe they are a breed that needs an owner that understands the flock guarding temperment and needs.
If anyone is interested and needs more information just IM me and i will forward her number to you.

I've never heard of them. Could you post a couple of pics, and do they need to go together?

I have just lost my CASD through bloat and due to having a young family and very varied types of animals introducing an adult into our home would not be a good idea. CASD's do require experienced flock guardian owners and they become more protective the older they get. If you message me the owners details I can pass them on to my breeder who does breed rescue. She is an amazing breeder and truly has the breeds best interests at heart.

Thank you,

Central Asians are an amazing breed of dog, I have worked with animals for over 20 years and nothing could have prepared me for a Central Asian Shepherd, Jake was only 3 1/2 and the hole he has left is crippling. Being such a rare breed and being 100% committed to wanting a pup from my breeder only means we may have to wait up to 3 years for another but we live on a property and have such a huge variety of animals so a flock guardian suits us the best.

I don't know exactly how many there are I would say under 30?, my breeder (Voldakov Central Asian Shepherd Dogs and Anatolians) has recently imported another bitch so hopefully I will get a pup from her litter when she is old enough. They have only been recognised in America since the 90's I believe but they are one of the oldest breeds.

Just open dogzonline.com.au , go to breeds ( on left hand side ) open central asian shepherd . A picture pops up....open " see morer profiles" and a list of dogs is available to look at individually.....Or go to breeders ( right hand side of opening page) and you can peruse breeders web pages. good luck Very Happy Very Happy
